Judge Joseph M. Carey Cheyenne City Center
Project Details:
Location
Cheyenne, Wyoming
Completed fall of 2020, the new Judge Joseph M. Carey Cheyenne City Center Building (26,240 sqft) showcases a two stories of red brick, highlighted by white stone bands. On top, a large cornice pays homage to the previous structure’s history. This multi-faceted project began in 2017, when our team designed the temporary relocation of the courts within the existing City Municipal Building. In January 2018, the Council voted unanimously that the new Municipal Court building would be built on the northwest corner of Carey Avenue and West 17th Street in downtown Cheyenne. It was a multi-layered process to create the design of the Court in this new location, one that included fully vetting several varying functional aspects, stakeholder needs, security considerations, and city requirements, all while maintaining budget restraints.
